Pi(e) in the sky?

Today saw the arrival of yet another pointless acquisition for someone who has too little spare time and really prefers if everyday things like computers just work (that would be me) – a Raspberry Pi. For those not in the know, this is basically a single-board computer the size of a credit card. It has a 700 MHz all-in-one processor and runs a special version of Linux off an SD-card. There is obviously no onboard harddrive or anything fancy, but it has 512MB RAM, 100Mbit ethernet, two full-size USB ports, HDMI and composite video outputs etc. Power consumption is around 3.5W total making it ideal for many “always on” applications.

It’s alive!!

Now, what do you actually do with one of these?? 😀
